Learning how to fight ;

Would you want to get billed passed, politicians elected and nation programs funded? Would you want to make a tangible, and noticeable impact on the politics of this nation? If so, join us for our Lobbying Workshop! In a world flooded with opinions, there are only so many ways to make yours stand out. A Lobbyist has the opportunity to promote his/her perspective and be taken seriously, an opportunity we can’t take lightly.

We also have a very special guest, Ben Steele who will be taking time out to talk to us about legal advocacy. If interested, please be sure to join us in our pursuit to promote concrete change in the present agenda of human rights.

Love comes in all shapes and forms ;

All throughout history, many battles have been fought and won in the name of love; be it love for a nation, love for people or for a person. But human beings have always been intrigued by love. Today, we will talk about a form of love that has been undermined by many communities and why is that so.
All throughout history, our ancestors have obsessed over an ideal situation and pushed everyone to fit into that box. But time has changed us as a community, and our minds have evolved to open our eyes and our hearts to people who love differently, and just as fairly. We are a part of this community, and it is only fair that we represent them too.
Today is for everyone.

Social Justice Conversations

Welcome to our second general meeting!

We meet every Monday at 6 pm at PAR 101.
Come join us for our next meeting on September 17!

Today we sit down and T A L K  ;

Every brilliant idea started when two or more people sat down, and talked. talked about what was troubling them, of what plagues their hearts every night before they sleep, and of what should change.
Join us as we do the same, and learn how to correctly talk about sensitive issues that demand our attention in a polite and respectful way. After all, it is not just what we say but how we say it that matters too.

There will be ongoing performances by local artists throughout the night and we’ll have multiple petitions supporting our theme this year, intersectional feminism. Other UT campus orgs will also be hosting different booths and events. Food and drinks will be available for purchase and you can win some cool prizes too!

So come check it out and bring your friends! Support a good cause and meet new people. All proceeds will go to support Austin Tan Cerca de la Frontera (ATFC), which works to raise awareness about social and economic injustices along the Texas/Mexico border, particularly as they effect women workers.
