One Chromosome apart;

How eerie it is that even before entering this world, our fate is decided? How eerie is it that through no fault or weaknesses of our own, our role in the society is predestined to be the submissive one? The “weaker” one. The one who has to look behind their shoulder walking down every abandoned road. The one who has to work twice as hard to earn half as much, and respect? Negligible.
How eerie it is that it speaks more about the world as a whole than our gender identity? It talks more about the insecurity of our society, how it cannot trust powerful beings to rise above their circumstances and take their rightful place. And it talks about how people have always feared losing, so they attempt to eliminate the competition.

But rest assured, the world is changing and we are changing. Everyone can rise based on their capacity, not their genetic makeup.
Welcome to a world of merit.

Persecution by Faith;

Our belief, our own ideals are our fundamental rights. If our perspectives do not invalidate other people’s existence, we can choose to have faith in whoever or even no one. And to assume our stand as the lone righteous is a reflection of naivety and immaturity. Our life is streaked with diversity and a multitude of experiences, people live in same, yet different worlds.

We certainly seem to enjoy segregating ourselves and diving ourselves into segments, and though this may give us a place to belong to, it also creates disparities and conflict. If we can learn to handle our differences, the world wouldn’t be so harsh and cruel as it seems today.
Tolerance. Is a simple word.

Respect each others’ existences.
Respect humanity. single-large-yellow-sunflower-FL30

Untold Holocaust;

Pope Francis recently referred to it officially as “the first genocide of the 20th century.”

Turkey denies the killings to be genocide.

Historians estimate that up to 1.5 million Armenians were killed by Turks around the time of World War I, an event widely viewed by scholars as genocide. But Turkey insists the death toll has been inflated and that those killed were victims of civil war and unrest.

But lives were lost regardless. We shall pay our respects to those souls that suffered and hope to prevent any such grotesque act of mass murder.

Welcome to the Land of Immigrants;

Man defined Nations and now Nations are defining men.
We have segregated ourselves and built fences so high, and forgotten each other’s faces and stories. Our worlds have become smaller, exclusive and self-centric. Outside our houses, people are suffering, outside our hearts, lives are extinguishing yet we do not feel the need to reach out. Maybe today will be the day when we realize that there exists a world outside ours which is waiting for us to join hands, and maybe today we might finally unite with a family that we had forgotten was ours.
Today we might welcome those with open arms and open hearts who need our support.

Punishment NOT Death;

Humans, drowning in their pride, have always played God, yet this is the most extreme case of their egoism – the right to judge who lives and who dies.
Death is not punishment as many presume. Death does not instigate fear in everyone as many presume.
True it is that some crimes are unforgivable, then don’t forgive them. But don’t kill them, don’t introduce your bias and personal opinions into making this decision.
It is interesting how we jail someone for murder and cause the death of someone ourselves.

Protecting Indigenous Population;

The land what we tread on now was stolen, and its price was paid in blood and injustice. Majority of us are aware of the atrocities that Native Americans experienced, yet to grasp the full extent of it will be a feat we would never be able to conquer. The closest we, as fellow human beings can come to is to understand their plight and their ordeals, and remember their story. Thus, please feel free to join us as a community and enhance your knowledge on this topic.
